As the history of many farms goes, Misael Sauceda Olivera and his brothers each inherited a part of the land of their father, Porfirio Sauceda. Misael bought the lands from his brothers and gradually expanded his own land. Misael Sauceda’s coffees repeatedly ranked in the Cup of Excellence international selection. With the money he received from these successes, he has been able to greatly improve his first farm – La Divina Providencia – and to buy a new farm, Santa Maria de Guadalupe.
Misael grows Caturra, Catuai, Maragogype and Maracaturra varieties on his farms. All coffee is shade-grown under a canopy of native trees and fruit trees. His farm lies at an altitude around 1400 m.a.s.l. in Las Manos, Dipilto. The average annual temperature at this altitude lies between 18 and 26°C. The environment in Las Manos is perfectly suited for growing coffee in proves to be ideal for growing delicate and subtle coffees with often floral higher notes and a substantial sweetness and body.
