BIO:
We are crazy about Kenyan coffee and we always look long and hard to find each years standout lots. This is a new coffee with us which stood out on the cupping table after many, many rounds of samples. The Gikaru Farmers Co-operative Society consists of about 650 small scale farmers in the classical Nyeri district. Farmers deliver their lots to the Muthuthi-ini factory for processing and sorting.
This area has a rich volcanic soil and coffees grow highly elevated with the snowy slopes of Mount Kenya in the backdrop. Fresh river water from Lake Tana is used for fermentation and the coffee is sundried on raised beds.
